Haley leads St. Joseph-Ogden to storybook season

Houchens homers

Seniors Kodey McKinney and Bryson Houchens celebrate Houchens' two-run homer in the bottom of the second inning against Harvest-Westminster in the IHSA Class 2A championship game. Wertz scores when Spartans needed it most

Spartan receiver Kaden Wedig celebrates as teammate Wyatt Wertz barrels his way into the end zone past Vandalia's Kohnor Depew and Dillon Hinton during St. Joseph-Ogden's Class 3A playoff game on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Wertz scored twice for the Spartans and finished the game with 144 yards on 23 carries in the 38-24 win. Wedig was also a huge contributor finishing the game with 132 yards, one scored, and four receptions.
